The 157i impeller is the only moving part in the pump for your Aqua Vue 480 or Aqua Vue 580 aquarium and as such it’s the most important component by long chalk. Spinning through millions of revolutions every day the impeller sucks water into the pump and blows it out over the filter media. All aquarium filters should be run twenty four hours per day and this makes wear inevitable. If the 157i breaks then your filtation comes to a crashing halt. We strongly suggest adding an Aqua One 157i impeller to your basket when you buy filter media for the Aqua Vue 480 or Aqua Vue 580 aquarium . Its cheap insurance and fitted in seconds with no special skills or tools required.
