Most of our customers utilize a Carbon and Polymer Wool Cartridge as the top layer of their filter but these polymer wool pads are useful if you are forced to remove the carbon cartridge because you are adding medication to the aquarium or if lots of solid waste is being produced and so more ability to trap waste is required.

Use instead of the carbon cartridge or slip over the top of the carbon cartridge.
