Fit a new Aqua One 1c and the 102c when you receive the kit. Once per month after this replace the Aqua One 1c and gently rinse the 102c in a little aquarium water (it doesn’t have to be pristine) to preserve the helpful filtration bacteria that grow on the ceramic granules. The sponge block may be rinsed in the same way.

if you have a lot of fish (and who doesn’t!!??) or you feed your fish a fair amount – the 1c cartridges may block up quicker as more waste is produced.
