to protect the air pump from back syphoned water and most will also require some

simple valves

to enable easy adjustment of the air flow. So many times we’ve seen these low cost essentials ignored which results in severe consequences.

No manufacturer will honour the warranty on an air pump which has got wet or has become internally water logged.

It’s so difficult to judge just how much air flow is required for your set up and how many bubbles will look great through a specific air stone, everyone’s opinion of ‘just right’ varies of course . The easiest solution is to invest in a small

air line valve

or two making it the work of seconds to regulate the air flow until it suits. Fitting couldn’t be easier: just cut the

air line

at a convenient point and connect the

air line valve

to both ends. Well worth ordering with your air pump for very little extra cost.
